It is with a deep sense of sadness that as President of the Short-Circuit Motor Sport Association Inc
I advise all members and friends of the passing of our founding member and great friend Fred Berge.
Fred's outstanding service to the motorsport industry spans over 60 years as a competitor, event organiser, CAMS Steward, photographer, reporter, race commentator, CAMS official and event organiser.
“He leaves a legacy which has been developed over many years assisting drivers develop their skills from age 14 to age 80. His contribution has had a direct result in improving drivers road safety and race craft”.
Cams Australia published: “He has played such a pivotal role in providing an inexpensive well-regulated competition that has launched so many drivers careers, his contribution cannot be overstated.”
Fred leaves behind his great friend Pat and is survived by his 2 children Brad and Lynne, together with 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

For those wishing to attend the funeral, it will take place at Saint Thomas More's Catholic Church, 71 Ramsay Street Toowoomba at 2 PM on April 16.
Burial will take place at the Garden of Remembrance and celebration refreshments at Saint Thomas More's Hall immediately after.
We pray Fred will rest in eternal peace.
